Loopring Smart Wallets Breach
The post published by @loopringorg revealed that a few hours ago some Loopring Smart Wallets suffered a hacker attack. The hacker falsely posed as the wallet owner, resetting ownership and withdrawing assets from the targeted wallets.
The hacker attack was successful as the culprits managed to compromise Loopring’s 2FA service and obtained approval for the aforementioned recovery from the Official Loopring Guardian. All operations related to the Guardian service have been suspended for now, while the team collaborates with Mist security experts to determine how the 2FA service was breached.
The Loopring team is now actively working with security and law enforcement experts as they try to track down the hacker. The two addresses of the hackers were shared in the post when the Loopring team asked the crypto community for help: “If you have any information that can help us locate the hacker, please share it with us.”
Previous scam warning from Ripple CTO
As Guru-Investingreported last week, Schwartz addressed the XRP community on a similar topic. He shared a screenshot of a direct message received by another X user, from someone calling themselves the X support team.
The message said this user’s account was “under investigation for copyright violations” and urged the user to fill out a form accessible through the link added to the message. If the form is not completed within 24 hours, the scammer claimed, the account would be suspended. Ripple’s CTO said that screenshot was fake.
