What is Numeraire (NMR)?
NMR is the native token of Numeraire, a blockchain-based project that provides data scientists with the ability to develop machine learning models that predict stock market movements.

How does Numeraire work? Essentially, Numeraire is weekly data science tournament. It provides data scientists with hedge fund data to which they must apply machine learning models developed using Python and R scripts.
Models are tested through active trading in the stock market. The 100 most successful models are chosen as the winners of the tournament. To take part in the tournament, data scientists need place NMR tokens. Tournament winners receive their staked tokens back in addition to their rewards BTC.
Crypto project Numeraire uses Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. Thus, the network is protected by validators who evaluate and create new blocks. To become validators, users must stake NMR tokens.
