Who founded Axelar?

Axelar was founded Sergei Gorbunov and Georgios Vlahos.

Sergey is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo. He is also a member of the company’s founding team Algorand, responsible for the design and development of the platform. He has a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has experience working in software-defined networking while studying at the University of Toronto. In addition, he has worked on cryptographic projects with IBM and is a co-author of several crypto protocols and standards.

Georgios is also a founding team member of Algorand, responsible for the design and development of its consensus. He won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

AXL Tokenomics

There is no maximum number of coins for AXL coins. The distribution of the initial supply of AXL tokens is as follows:

• The company received 29.5%, which was divided between the team (17%) and the company’s activities (12.5%).
• The backers received 29.54%, divided between Seed round investors (13.4%), Series A investors (12.64%) and Series B investors (3.5%).
• 5% was allocated for public sale.
