Treasure Launches New Ethereum Gaming Network with ZKsync, Leaving Arbitrum

The recently launched Treasure layer 2 Ethereum network is part of the ZKsync network. Elastic chain– network of compatible zero knowledge united chains – and will use the project’s MAGIC token. As a result, it is necessary to transfer more than 15 games, hundreds of thousands of NFTs and tokens from Arbitrumand users can do this using Hyperlane Bridge.

The project bills itself as a “decentralized gaming console” as it powers video games using the blockchain. In February Treasure doubled its bet on the construction of Arbitrumannouncing plans launch the “Endless Chains” network. But in recent months, Treasure has changed direction, reconsidering its priorities.

“We need features that are specific to games, as well as cultivate a special culture and distribution flywheel that ordinary second-tier people don’t prioritize,” Treasure co-founder. Karel Vuong said Decipher. “This requires a game-centric, bottom-up approach.”

Namely, the creation of a Layer 2 gaming network allows projects to use gasless transactions, create social accounts and introduces “specialized infrastructure for the gaming economy,” Vuong said.

For example, the move will strengthen Treasure’s Game Exchange system, which allows players to trade assets, provide liquidity and earn rewards directly within the game client by reducing costs and increasing overall speed.

In addition, the Treasure Development Kit will allow games to more smoothly implement blockchain functions by reducing the amount of direct smart contract information, and will also allow AI agents to enter the game world. Players will also be able to log in via email and social media accounts, as well as crypto wallets using ZKsync’s built-in account abstraction features.

Interestingly, Treasure received an offer from ZKsync back in February when it announced plans to continue developing Arbitrum, but turned down the offer due to a perceived lack of user support.

Since then, Vuong says, Treasure’s technical needs have changed. Now, ZKsync’s capabilities, particularly in its native account abstraction, ZK-based scalability, and elastic network compatibility, made it the right choice this time.

“After careful evaluation before launching Level 2, we found that ZKsync technology fits perfectly with our vision of fundamentally transforming the gaming industry,” Vuong said. Decipher. “This shift is not about what was wrong before, but rather what is right for the future of Treasure as it scales.”

Fortunately, this move does not delay Treasure’s timeline, as the Wednesday mainnet launch is already ahead of schedule. At the same time, the project expects that “several” games will be launched on the new network by the end of the year, and even more will appear in the first quarter of 2025.

Vuong confirmed that the action roguelike wanders will be exclusively released as part of the monkey-themed massively multiplayer online game Treasure. Bitmates working towards being fully online and roleplaying Sievers already uses the Game Exchange system.

“We are already in talks with other games about potential migration,” Vuong said, adding that it is a role-playing game. To celebrate the launch of the mainnet, Treasure is set to launch a campaign called “Decentralized Entertainment System: Cartridges.” As a nod to retro cartridge-based gaming systems, daily free NFT coins will be given out based on games from the Treasure ecosystem, turning assets into collectibles.

Then, in the first quarter of 2025, staking using Ethereum’s EigenLayer protocol for Treasure’s MAGIC token will be unveiled, as well as “other use cases” that will elevate the decentralized gaming console.

“The next few months will be very interesting,” Vuong concluded.
