A new XLS specification has just been released for XRP Ledger, according to Mayukha Vadarisenior software engineer at RippleX, at X.
The proposal “XLS-49d: Multiple Signer Lists” would allow support for multiple signer lists per account.
At the moment, XRP Ledger only supports one global list of signers per account. However, many users (e.g. token issuers) need more granularity. For example, they may want to have one signer list that can generate new tokens and another signer list that can create and edit trust lines.
The current system of global signatory lists will continue to be supported, as the proposal aims to only aggregate signatory lists by transaction type. Accounts can create signer lists that only allow certain types of transactions to be sent on their behalf.
The new proposal is similar to XLS-31d, which proposes allowing specific types of accounting transactions to have their own quorum of signatories, but is more comprehensive in scope.
XRP Ledger Mods Progress
According to the XRPscan The amendment adds a new field, FirstNFTSequence, to prevent recall.
The XRP Ledger amendment process only allows protocol changes after two weeks of over 80% validator support. Therefore, the NFT amendment could be approved if this scenario holds.
Over the weekend, the “fixReducedOffersV1” amendment, which fixes a minor issue with DEX offers, gained support from over 80% of validators and entered a two-week countdown period.
Given the progress made by these amendments, XRPL node operators are advised to update to the latest version, 1.12.0, as they risk the amendments being blocked if they do not do so.
