Hedera (HBAR), the proof-of-stake blockchain network powering Web3 innovation, is set to get a major boost through a new initiative aimed at attracting more developers to the network.
On Wednesday, the nonprofit The Hashgraph Association and Swirlds Labs, a platform focused on accelerating the development and adoption of Hedera, announced a training course aimed at enabling individuals and businesses to learn about public blockchain and how to develop it .
The free “Building on Hedera” course aims to provide blockchain engineers, developers and businesses with a foundation for Web3 innovation on Hedera, Swirlds Labs said in a blog post published on January 17.
Training courses and opportunities to build on Hedera
In a comment, Kamal Youssefi of the Hashgraph Association said that the “Building on Hedera course” will offer NFT certificates to users who complete the program. This way, companies can showcase the skills and qualifications of team members. Youssefi added:
“The new educational framework aims to create an efficient and accessible process through which both new and existing developers can improve their skills in using Web3-specific technology.”
The Hashgraph Association and Swirlds Labs plan to add additional courses and certifications to the program, with the goal of providing a comprehensive understanding and knowledge base for engineers and developers learning on Hedera. This will ensure those participating in the program receive all the skills and training they need.
Dr. Leemon Baird, co-founder and co-CEO of Swirlds Labs, said:
“A strong community has a great need for education. This new Building on Hedera course provides much-needed training and opportunities for those already in the community today, and also encourages others to explore what Hedera has to offer.”
The course announcement comes one day after Hedera announced Hitachi America, Ltd. joining the Hedera Board. Hitachi will bring its expertise in industrial solutions to Hedera, helping to create proof of concept for end-to-end supply chain and sustainability solutions for the HBAR blockchain in the coming year.
