On-chain data shows that more than 78% of Cardano blocks produced in the last eight hours were created during the secondary offering (SPO) supporting the Chang hard fork.
The Cardano community continues to anticipate the possible launch of the Cardano Chang hard fork. This key upgrade is expected to move the Cardano ecosystem into the Voltaire era. Voltaire, the latest era of the Cardano ecosystem, will help ensure decentralized community governance.
In anticipation of the Chang hard fork, several Betting pool operators (SPO) have started supporting a 9.1 node, the latest upgrade to the Cardano network. Growing support is expected to gradually move the entire Cardano network to 9.1, marking the official transition to Chang.
It is noteworthy that the data was obtained from Cexplorer, a leading Cardano Block Explorer confirms that over the last eight hours, 78.66% of blocks mined by the Cardano network were created via SPOs running on the latest Chang-ready 9.1 node.
Although there is a slight decline over a longer period, the prevailing data still shows encouraging statistics. Notably, in the last 24 hours, 77.59% of blocks produced have passed SPO in version 9.1. Additionally, this figure is 74.82% for blocks produced in the last two days.
The fact that the majority of blocks created on the Cardano network went through staking pool operators running version 9.1 indicates that the ecosystem is now closer to Chang than expected, about a month after node release 9.0.
Cardano Ecosystem Prepares for Chang
However, the ecosystem still needs to meet other critical conditions before Chang can go into full effect. The bet with Pride, Cardano’s landmark secondary public offering, outlined some of these conditions in the previous report.
Under these conditions, at least 70% of Cardano SPOs must upgrade to node 9.1. In addition, centralized exchanges and ecosystem services must also upgrade to the latest version. In addition, ICC councils will need to create keys to replace the Genesis keys, which must be destroyed.
Six days ago, The Crypto Basic confirmed Bitfinex is the first exchange to upgrade to Chang. At press time, nine more exchanges, including Coinbase, Bitrue, and WhiteBit, have already been configured. This brings the total number of Chang-ready exchanges to 10, representing 17% of the exchange readiness. Notably, 18 exchanges, including Binance, are in the process.
Additionally, according to Cardanoscan, the stake readiness is currently 78.22%. However, the number of stake pools that are currently ready is 930 out of a total of 3,102. This brings the stake pool readiness to 29.98%.
