Cat Hero Shooter Nyan Heroes is now open for a third testing period, which adds a new game mode, two characters, and more gameplay features. This also marks the start of the third period of the project air dump campaign wave where players will be able to earn SolanaNYAN tokens for completing in-game tasks.
Nyan Heroes is a free-to-play Overwatch-style shooter where players play as a cat piloting a mech suit. Developed by 9 Lives Interactivethe game burst into top 30 titles on Epic Games Store during the last playtest. This was followed by the token launch and air dump to those who took part in Test campaign.
With the third test of the game, a new campaign for the distribution of items has begun, which will last until September 25. By completing weekly and daily missions, which will take place mainly in the game itself, players will be able to earn their share NANNY tokens during the next airdrop.
During the third playtest, major updates and new features were added to the game – most notably, two new characters (or guardians) named Ayana and Yuri.
Nyan Heroes ARE BACK, baby!
And what were the developers doing while they were gone…
2 new awesome characters, a new game mode, a new user interface and all the same old cat madness fun.

Anyana is a fast scout pilot who stays ahead of the fight, spotting enemies to help her teammates. One of her abilities increases the player’s movement speed as she stuns enemies she passes through; her ultimate attack launches her out of the sky, dealing electrical damage to an area around her.
Yuri, the Guardian Mage, was my favorite addition to the playtest. This character can cast spells and, best of all, teleport around the map. This mechanic was a lot of fun to play with, as you could grab an SMG or shotgun, get behind an enemy, and catch them off guard.
This update also adds a new game mode to the rotation: Payload. Very similar to hero shooters of the past, such as Command Fortress 2 And OverwatchTwo teams compete to drag a load across a map, and the team that gets the farthest wins.
According to the team, the addition of this game mode is the first step in 9 Lives’ mission to balance the game to work across different modes and styles.
This playtest also added other new features, including a new map, Guardian audio logs, and a “drop-in” mechanic that allows cats to drop from their mechs and jump onto the backs of allied suits.
Another major feature is the addition of customizable “boosts,” which are small stat boosts for your characters that are randomly awarded to you as you play. The team acknowledges that this will be a key balancing issue during this playtest, as they want the mechanic to feel noticeable without being unfair.
After the latest playtest, the game feels more polished than before. back in May as the game seems to be taking shape while still in pre-alpha. Namely, the wall running mechanic felt smoother in this build of the game, and I found myself wanting to experiment with it more than I did in the last playtest, though it hasn’t been officially stated as a changed mechanic.
The team is currently focused on launching its third playtest and can’t estimate when the game will hit beta, let alone when it will be ready for a full launch. That’s largely because the game is being made by what Arianna Garin, marketing manager at 9 Lives, called a “small team” of about 60 people, but The company is looking for employees in a number of roles to help take the game to the next level.
