The Shiba Inu community, also known as the shib armyhas received an urgent warning of scam alerts Shibarmy, an X handle dedicated to uncovering scams and protecting the Shiba Inu community.
The Shiba Inu community is warned to be wary of fraudulent NFTs sent to wallets, claiming to be airdrops of SHIB or BONE, or any other asset. They are often sent in multiple chains, hence the need for surveillance.
As a precaution, Shiba Inu holders are urged to hide these fraudulent NFTs and report them.
In this regard, SHIB users should note that there are no official airdrops of SHIB, BONE, LEASH or Shiboshis, the tokens and NFTs linked to Shiba Inu.
Shib Army scam alerts warn that any “NFT” request to visit a website is likely a scam. Users are urged not to connect their wallets to unknown or suspicious dApps or websites as they may contain malicious codes or links.
The warning comes amid a rise in fake websites, NFT airdrops and Telegram groups spreading false information and luring unsuspecting users into revealing personal information that could be used maliciously. Some of these scams use names or logos similar to the Shiba Inu project, making it difficult for users, especially new ones, to identify them from the real thing.
Recently, “ShibArmy Scam Alerts” notified the SHIB community of groups on various social platforms, including Telegram, that were falsely using the names of Shiba Inu developers and team members.
Shiba Inu says he does not create such groups or accounts. He further adds that these impostors could aim to create a false sense of security and share misleading information or malicious links.
Shiba Inu users are urged to be careful, as malicious links shared in these groups could lead to phishing or malware sites, compromising personal information and funds.
