Lookonchain’s “Smart Money” wallet tracker wrote in the X post that the hacker already exchanged 75,636 ETH for tBTC via Threshold Network and cross-chained them to the Bitcoin network. This amount of ETH is valued at approximately $124 million. The exploiter still holds almost 110,000 ETH worth $180 million, according to Lookonchain.
In total, the aforementioned hacker got away with almost $500 million worth of FTX cryptocurrency. He then exchanged most of the stolen coins for Ethereum: around 180,000 ETH, according to a previously published Forbes report.
Whales remove staggering amount of ETH from exchanges
According to a recent report from on-chain data provider Santiment, two days ago, a staggering amount of Ethereum was moved from crypto exchanges to self-custody wallets: 110,000 ETH worth $181 million. That was the largest outflow from CEX since August 21, Santiment’s analysis team stated.
Now following this, the ETH supply on exchanges is at the lowest point in over 5.5 years, while the ETH supply outside of exchanges has reached an all-time high of 115.88 million ETH. .
This week, between October 2 and 5, the second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, lost 6.44%, falling from $1,729 to the $1,618 level. So far, ETH has managed to recover the price of $1,631.
