The ApeCoin (APE) decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is voting on a proposal to launch an APE-themed hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. So far, over $3.6 million of APE has voted “yes,” representing over 90%.
Notably, ApeCoin Improvement Proposal #448 (AIP-448) started on July 18 and will end on July 31. This proposal is called “ApeCoin Hotel” and has 4.6 million APE votes in favor on July 21.
On the other hand, 411,000 APE investors vote “no” for AIP-448, resulting in a 91.84% “yes” dominance. It will be difficult for the opposite side to prevent the implementation of “ApeCoin Hotel”, which, surprisingly, is not a protocol upgrade.
Anyone holding ApeCoin can vote for the proposal by connecting a crypto wallet weighted by the balance of the address. APE is currently trading at $0.85, which gives $4.26 million. 5 million APE voters.
AIP-448: ApeCoin Hotel
This particular AIP aims to launch a real APE-style hotel in a real city to generate revenue for the DAO. Additionally, its main goals include increasing the exposure of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) intellectual property, increasing the visibility and utility of ApeCoin, and generating revenue for the ApeCoin DAO.
Interestingly, this unique venture combines elements from different industries, including hospitality, art, and cryptocurrency. In addition, the hotel plans to offer a wide range of APE-themed experiences, such as exhibitions, a rooftop bar, themed rooms, and a swimming pool.
One of the most enticing aspects of the proposal is its potential benefit to the ApeCoin ecosystem. For example, 50% of the revenue from theme rooms will be directed to the ApeCoin DAO treasury for one year. Moreover, the hotel will accept ApeCoin as payment, demonstrating its real-world utility and encouraging circulation.
The offer also includes community-focused initiatives such as offering 50 free nights to APE holders and providing free access to certain facilities for community members. These benefits are then aimed at encouraging engagement and strengthening connections within the APE community.
Finally, proposal AIP-448 requests a total of 410,000 APE from the ApeCoin Ecosystem Fund to bring this innovative concept to life. With voting set to close on July 31, the crypto world is eagerly awaiting the final outcome of this potentially revolutionary initiative in the blockchain-based hospitality industry.
