BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, reported that a diverse investor base has emerged for spot Bitcoin ETFs. Rachel Aguirre, head of US iShares product at BlackRock, explained that both retail and new investors have shown interest in the company’s Bitcoin ETF.
When asked whether these flows were coming from Grayscale’s GBTC product, Aguirre clarified that the interest was not limited to a specific group. Aguirre added that some investors were ready to invest from the first day the product was launched.
Aguirre also emphasized that BlackRock is focusing on investors who are just starting to explore this new asset class. “We’re very excited about this,” he told her.
While Aguirre did not comment on whether BlackRock’s model portfolios will include BTC investments in the future, he said the firm is committed to educating its clients and financial advisors about Bitcoin. Aguirre concluded his words thus:
“For our clients, I would say we are focused on understanding their educational needs that support them throughout their investment journey and enable them to make the financial decisions that are right for them.”
