Strategy advisor to spot Bitcoin, VanEck and Tether ETF issuer Gabor Gurbacs shared that Hollywood star famous for movies about Conan The Barbarian and the “Terminator” franchise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, got into trouble in the Munich airport.
As a Bitcoin advocate, Gurbacs hinted that Bitcoin could have easily solved the problem.
Schwarzenegger Cannot Make Pre-Tax Trust Payment
According to a CNN reportEarlier this week, the legendary Austrian actor was detained at Munich airport for failing to declare an expensive watch he was wearing upon his arrival in the Bavarian capital.
Now, according to CNN, the “Terminator” and former governor of California will face a criminal tax process. A customs official at Munich airport told CNN that Schwarzenegger violated a rule of compulsorily declaring a product from a non-EU country imported into the European Union that was required to remain in the EU.
Schwarzenegger was held at Munich airport for two hours and then released. He failed to declare a watch made by the Swiss company Audemars Piguet, a luxury watch brand, that he planned to sell at an auction in Austria for charity.
The American actor and former politician offered to make a possible advance tax payment. However, customs officials were unable to use a bank card ATM.
Bitcoin solves this
Finally, Schwarzenegger was taken to a bank where he had to withdraw the required amount of cash. However, the ATM limit was too low and the bank closed. When they returned to the airport, an officer had brought a new portable bank card terminal, so the actor was finally able to pay. The amount paid by the actor was not disclosed.
“The EU is a joke,” added Gabor Gurbacs, as if implying that a payment in Bitcoin could have been made much faster and without having to force Schwarzenegger to go anywhere and then return to the airport.
To make a transaction in Bitcoin, you only need a smartphone or laptop connected to the Internet. Depending on the wallet or cryptocurrency exchange where the payer keeps their Bitcoin, a transaction can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Still, the Bitcoin Lightning Network allows micropayments in BTC to be made much faster.
