According to Bloomberg, the Hong Kong regulator is in talks to allow spot issuers of Ethereum ETFs to allow ETH staking.
The staking functionality included in Ethereum ETF applications made in the United States has always been the subject of approval controversy.
Why the SEC Was Skeptical About Ethereum’s Staking Feature. At this point, the requesting companies updated their requests by removing the staking functionality, which the SEC suspected, from their ETF requests.
However, Hong Kong took bolder measures than the US and approved Ethereum spot ETFs before the US. It is now negotiating with issuing companies about adding staking functionality to spot ETFs.
Following this news, the price of ETH rallied and rose to $3860.
