The winner of the Best Content Creator award at a crypto event in Singapore has deleted his X (formerly Twitter) account after being accused of using bots to manipulate his social metrics.
Professor Crypto received the Key Opinion Leader (KOL) award last night at one of Token2049’s side events, the DeGen Summit. He then shared this success on X.
However, his now-deleted congratulatory post prompted crypto sleuth ZachXBT to point out that Professor Crypto appears to be using thousands of bots.
“It might be a good idea to move away from the thousands of bots you use across all social media platforms to trick people into thinking you’re an influencer,” ZakHBT said.
He also cited a Federal Trade Commission law that “prohibits anyone from selling or buying fake indicators of social media influence, such as followers or views generated by a bot or hacked account.”

Professor Crypto deleted his X account shortly after deleting a number of posts related to his KOL win. He also hidden dozens of posts from users claiming that they don’t follow anyone who follows Professor Crypto and don’t even know who he is.
Indeed, functi0nZer0 said: “I’ve been here longer than the stars have been burning and I have exactly *one* contact in common with this account (someone I added last week).”
Another user, NewsyJohnson, also noted that they have no understanding with Professor Crypto, despite the fact that he follows over 1,100 accounts and has almost 20,000 followers.
NewsyJohnson stated that Professor Crypto has bots that follow, like and comment on his content. They said: “I don’t think he has any followers“

Professor Crypto was also on board the Qatar Airways flight to Singapore, which felt more like a party than any networking event.
During the flight, safety signs with seat belts were ignored as passengers danced in the aisles, and Redacted co-founder Shan Kumar hinted that the crew may not have expected the antics in the air.
He said: “You know what, the people at Qatar Airways are saying this is the last time we’re going to take a Web3 aircraft and, frankly, that was the goal.” This particular video has since been removed from X.
